This instrument was designed for pain alleviation by transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). the instrument is applicable in home or hospital therapy. Conductive rubber electrodes are applied to the skin using a thin film or electrode paste, and are fixed in place by means of adhesive tape, elastic belt or bandages. The patient adjusts the amplitude of biphasic stimulation pulses - till a sensation of pleasant vibration and pain alleviation is achieved. TENS is applied for 10-15 minutes to several hours daily. TENS has no side effects and helps reduce medication. Its indications cover a large range of pain conditions, nerve pain (neuralgia) post-operative pains, painful post-traumatic conditions, low-back pain, neck pain or stiffness etc.
